Party Line is built to be careful with your data. The short version: your crew's things stay on your crew's PC.
The app
- Your server is one of your crew's own PCs. Members, messages, pictures, files and calls are stored there and nowhere else. We don't run a server that holds any of it.
- Calls, private messages and channel chats are locked end to end (when everyone's on a current Party Line), so even the server PC can't listen in or read them.
- Party Line has no accounts with us, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- To work, the app talks to a few outside services: your internet address (from a public lookup), the network test (Cloudflare's speed test), your phone's own notification service, your own DuckDNS name and Let's Encrypt certificate if you set up phones, and Steam if you choose to show your game. None of them get your messages or calls.
- Nothing is sent to us unless you send it, for example an email with a log attached.
This website
- No cookies, no trackers, no analytics, and nothing loaded from other sites.
- The site is served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, sees the addresses of visitors to deliver the pages.
- Feedback emails are only used to answer you and improve Party Line, and are deleted when they're no longer needed.
